On this May Day, A Better Balance celebrates the contributions of workers around the world. But more than a day of celebration, May Day is a day to stand up and fight for worker and immigrant rights.
Join us by taking part either in person, or through online action, as we support policies that work for workers and speak out against those that will do nothing but cause harm to working families and working immigrants across the country.
- If you’re in New York City, join us as we rally in support of immigrant and worker rights with our partners at Make the Road and the New York Immigration Coalition at 5 PM EST in Foley Square
- If you’re in Nashville, come march with our partners at Worker’s Dignity and Music City Riders United in Coleman Park at 5:30 PM CST where they’ll be calling for a living wage, an end to wage theft, access to affordable housing, and more.
- If you can’t make an in-person event, take two minutes to write a letter to your representative opposing the “comp time” bill, which will cheat workers out of hard-earned overtime pay. The bill is up for a vote in Congress tomorrow so your voice really counts! You can read more about the bill here.
Thank you for all your support and to all the workers who continue to inspire us each and every day.
