A Better Balance applauds President Biden for nominating Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court. Judge Jackson’s highly-respected judicial service, extensive qualifications, and deep public service background of defending the rights of society’s most vulnerable make her an excellent choice for the Supreme Court, where the rights of so many hang in the balance. And her historic nomination brings us closer to the day — long overdue — when the highest court in the land actually reflects the people it serves.
With Judge Jackson’s strong track record on gender and economic justice, her appointment to the Supreme Court will make a difference in the lives of millions of workers across the country fighting to care for themselves and their loved ones. We urge the Senate to act swiftly to confirm her seat on the court.
